Updater for HotSync v4.0 for Windows

Posted July 9, 2001

(For English language m500 and m505 users only)

Problem:
This update fixes a problem where HotSync Manager 4.0 for Windows may timeout during a HotSync operation over USB when a conduit takes a lengthy period of time to respond (often when synchronizing with a conduit that accesses a database over the web). This problem only occurs with HotSync Manager 4.0 for Windows and does not affect those synchronizing with a Mac.

System Requirements

Handheld Requirements:
This is a software problem that only occurs when synchronizing with the USB universal cradle that comes with m500 and m505 handhelds. Nothing is wrong with your Palm handheld or the cradle.

Software Requirements:
It is only necessary to install this updater if you have HotSync Manager 4.0 for Windows installed (included if you installed Palm Desktop 4.0.1 for Windows software). The installer will check to see if you have HotSync Manager 4.0 installed.

Language Requirements:
This Update is for use with the English language version of HotSync Manager v4.0 ONLY. Use of this update with any other language versions of Hotsync Manager 4.0 is unsupported. A separate solution for non-English versions of Hotsync Manager v.4.0 (French, Italian, German, Spanish and Japanese) will be available soon.
