Palm Announces Windows Mobile 6 Update Plans for Treo 750v and Treo 750 Smartphones in Singapore
SINGAPORE, COMEX 2007, Aug. 30, 2007 -- Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today announced at COMEX 2007 that an update to the Windows Mobile® 6 Professional operating system will be available for Palm® Treo™ 750v and Palm Treo 750 smartphone customers in Singapore. The update will be available at no extra cost as a download for existing Treo 750v and Treo 750 customers.
The Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system offers enhanced user interface and increased functionality. The new interface makes it easier than ever for customers to use a Treo 750 smartphone as a high-speed wireless modem for a laptop.(1)
Windows Mobile 6 paired with Exchange Server 2007 will deliver email enhancements such as HTML-formatted email messages, the ability to set an out-of-office message remotely, and live links to Microsoft SharePoint documents. The Palm Treo 750v and Treo 750 smartphone’s colour touch screen makes applications easier than ever to use, and allows customers to take full advantage of new mobile versions of Microsoft Office Outlook, Office Word, Office Excel and Office PowerPoint. Microsoft’s Direct Push Technology continues to be available out of the box, giving Exchange users fast, automatic wireless updates of their email, calendar items, contacts and tasks without additional third-party software or fees.(2)
For Palm Treo 750v customers, the update also will facilitate 3G broadband HSDPA (High-speed Downlink Packet Access) capability – allowing faster data-download speeds on 3G/UMTS/HSDPA networks.(3)

Palm Treo 750 and 750v smartphone customers in Singapore can download the free Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system update, which will be available at Palm’s Singapore website (www.palm.com/sg) by end September.
The Palm Treo 750 smartphone is available at COMEX 2007 at the recommended retail price of S$998, and will be bundled with a free Palm Bluetooth® GPS kit worth S$288 and a free vehicle power charger worth S$28.
