Palm Bluetooth™ Card Software update



The Palm Bluetooth Card Software Update is a replacement for several files that have been installed using the software included with the Palm Bluetooth Card. This update will replace those files with newer versions.

The Palm Bluetooth Card Software Update incorporates improvements which:

· Increase data reliability over Bluetooth connections
· Increase data transfer speeds over Bluetooth connections
· Streamlined Bluetooth phone setup using Phone Link

Note - These files are replacement files for the original Palm Bluetooth Card software. This update does not replace all necessary Bluetooth files needed to run applications over Bluetooth on your Palm handheld. If you have not first installed the Palm Bluetooth Card software, please do so prior to installing this update. These files also replace the PalmBTSD_Beta software files that had been previously posted on this site.

System Requirements
The Palm Bluetooth Software Update requires the following minimal system requirements:
· Palm m500, m505, m515, m130 or m125 Handheld
· PC running Windows 95/98/NT 4.0/2000/Me/XP

· Mac OS 8.6 to 10.0

Installation Instructions
If you are a Windows user and have downloaded the Palm Bluetooth Software Update file:
1. Extract the files using a standard unzip utility. Note the location of the directory/folder the file is extracted to.
2. Launch Palm Desktop. Select the Install Tool icon.
3. Select the correct user name from the User list.
4. Select the Add button.
5. Locate BtBGone.prc file in the directory/folder noted in Step 1 above and double-click on it.
6. Select Done.
7. Select OK.
8. Insert the device into the cradle and initiate HotSync synchronization. The BtBGone.prc file will be installed and activated.
9. Remove the Palm handheld from the cradle and launch the BtBGone application.
10. Tap on "Go" and then on "OK".
11. Place the Palm handheld back on the cradle.
12. Once again, launch the Install tool from the toolbar on the left side of the main window.
13. Click on "Add" and browse to the folder where you extracted the files in the previous steps.
14. Select the folder "PalmBTSD" and select all the files. Click "Open".
15. Select "Done" on the Installer tool.
16. Press the HotSync button on the cradle.

Macintosh Installation
If you are a Macintosh user and have downloaded the Palm Bluetooth Software Update file:

1. Your web browser should decode the file and you will see the appropriate .sit file appear on the desktop (or in your default download folder). If your web browser does not decode the file automatically, you will need to use a decoding utility (such as Aladdin Stuffit Expander) in order to decode the .sit file.
2. Find the Instant Palm Desktop icon in the top right corner of your screen. From the Instant Palm Desktop menu, launch the HotSync Manager.
3. From the HotSync menu of the Instant Palm Desktop, select "Install" and pick the correct user name from the User list.
4. Select Add to List. Locate the BtBGone file and double-click on it.
5. Quit HotSync Manager, put your Palm handheld in the HotSync cradle and press the HotSync button.
6. Remove the Palm handheld from the cradle and launch BtBGone application.
7. Tap on "Go" and then on "OK".
8. Place the Palm handheld back on the cradle.
9. From the HotSync menu of the Instant Palm Desktop, select "Install" and pick the correct user name from the User list.
10. Select Add to List. Locate the "PalmBTSD" folder and double-click on it.
11. Select all the files and click on "Open."
12. Quit HotSync Manager and press the HotSync button.
